Black Cone Head Woolly Bugger, Size 2, Tail Flash

Many lodges and guides use our size 2 Black C.H. Woolly Buggers with either Blue, Red, Purple, or Green Flash-a-Bou in the tail on the Brooks, Kulik, Ayakulik, Naknek, Nushagak, Kanektok, and Kenai rivers (and countless others). Many locals call these "Electric Leeches". We sell the original 'Lectric Leech also, but these are an old standby for many years in Alaska for big rainbow, charr, and salmon. Blue seems to be best for rainbow; red for salmon; green is a killer on kings; and purple makes a great change-up/dark fly for when the bite goes off on pink flies. Bead Head Black Woolly Bugger, Plain

Bead Head Black Woolly Bugger, Plain

Alaskan guide reports from the past two seasons say that this is the fly that has been out-fishing the Black/White Dolly Llama, especially on the side streams. Slip on a size 6mm colored bead egg (fl. orange, glow orange, glow pink) to slide freely on the leader for fantastic action on 'bows, dolly Varden, and grayling. It just might be because of catch-and-release that those wily 'bows are getting wise to the Dolly Llama! Be sure to stash a handful of these in your fly box to "save-the-day" when the rainbow stop hitting the Llamas. Sizes 6, 4
